Flowfest
FLOW Fest is a free, community-driven cultural gathering that activates public space through music, movement, art, and education to foster connection, creativity, and belonging.
Our mission
FLOWfest is guided by the principles of Frequency, Love, Oneness, and Wellness. These values shape its approach to programming, community engagement, and atmosphere. These principles emphasize connection over consumption, collaboration over competition, and presence over performance.
Ultimately, FLOW Fest is more than a festival; it is a platform for community expression, creative exploration, and collective experience. It offers an inclusive and accessible space where people can gather, share, and co-create, inviting participants to step into a shared rhythm and experience public space in a new and meaningful way.
Flowfest
FLOWfest is grounded in principles of respect, relationship, and meaningful representation through intentional collaboration and community-centered design.
Rather than approaching inclusion as symbolic, We prioritize ongoing relationship-building and fair participation. Indigenous artisans and community vendors are invited to participate in the marketplace, with compensation and visibility built into the structure of the event. This ensures that representation is supported through tangible economic and creative opportunities, not just presence. Reciprocity is addressed through fair pay for artists, facilitators, and cultural contributors, as well as by creating accessible platforms for skill-sharing, performance, and creative exchange. Workshops and open programming are designed to lower barriers to participation and provide opportunities for learning and expression across experience levels.
Accountability is reflected in the collaborative planning process with local partners, service providers, and community stakeholders, as well as in commitments to safety, accessibility, and responsible use of public space. Community support is further embedded through the inclusion of local vendors, youth and emerging artists, and free programming that prioritizes access over exclusivity.
gastown
By activating an Blood Alley, Maple Tree Square and the surround area, we will contribute to placemaking in a tangible and impactful way. The festival transforms an everyday environment into a temporary cultural hub, that encourages movement, interaction, and shared experience.
